SM King (SMキング) was a Japanese photo book series dedicated to the art of Kinbaku, published between 1972 and 1974, edited by Dan Oniroku and backed by Taiyo Tosho. Known for its refined focus on the beauty of rope bondage, it avoided the explicit content seen in later S&M magazines.
The first three issues featured covers by Shiro Tatsumi, with Ran Akiyoshi taking over from the fourth issue, creating the series’ most iconic covers.
This one is the first issue with Shiro Tatsumi dark and typical of his style cover.

Highly regarded for its artistic approach, SM King remains one of the finest Kinbaku publications of its era.
